Any place you can recommend for a wedding dinner? It will be a small intimate group of people of about 8 people so it would not be possible to hire a full venue. Any tips appreciated.
What is a great restaurant/hotel for a wedding dinner in Berkshire?
ANYWHERE around Windsor?
or what part of Berks do you want it in?
Reply:The Fat Duck in Bray. Although you may only be able to book for a table of 6 max, not totally sure. It is somewhat expansive, but will obviously be a memorable meal.
Reply:The Swan at Streatley - lovely venue and good food. Pretty village too.

How much does a wedding planner make in Las Vegas?
I am going to be a certified wedding planner. I am thinking about moving out to Las Vegas for a year or so to gain experience since there are so many weddings out there. What is the average income for a wedding planner in Vegas?
How much does a wedding planner make in Las Vegas?
im assuming that a wedding planner in a hotel would be on a salary like the rest of the employees. The hotels in Vegas do pay decent. I would assume maybe 85G a year.
Reply:When people get married in Las Vegas they dont spend alot of money. Thats why they go to those little knock off chapels along the road. Move to California. Theres good money.

How can I transfer raw footage of a wedding from a DVD to my computer for editing?
I have a friend who has the raw footage of his wedding in MiniDV's and the other part is raw footage too but in a DVD or disc, not sure. My question is how can I transfer the DVD content into my computer for editing? . I am planning to do it iMovie06. Any suggestions?
How can I transfer raw footage of a wedding from a DVD to my computer for editing?
Firewire for the footage on miniDV tape.
If the other footage is on a DVD, just do a rip of the files to your hard drive.
Reply:Not sure what formats that iMovie takes. However, DVD is MPEG-2 and its not the best format for editing. Typically, you should convert the MPEG-2 files from the DVD to a DV-AVI format and then go ahead.
Thanks.

What is the best way to sell a wedding band and engagement ring?
I have a wedding band and engagement ring that I want to sell. They are both 14k gold, and I don't really know anything about the diamond in the engagement ring. I also have another 14k gold ring that the stone fell out of that I would like to sell. What is the best way to sell these rings?
What is the best way to sell a wedding band and engagement ring?
If you want to sell some gold that youre no longer wearing any more you can sell it directly to a refiner. You have the option of shopping it around but that takes a lot of work.
Use this calculator to see how much you can get for it

Reply:the dow has raised 16% int the last 2 months gold on the other hand has raised 23% our country is in recession and the further our economy will go down the more your gold will be worth so pay great attention to the gold market and see it keep rising it makes a difference to second hand jewelwers seriously
Reply:First get it appraised, then you can sell it on EBAY or Craigslist.com.

How much should i change to photograph a wedding?
I have been shooting for about 6 or 7 years. I currently use a d200 nikon digital slr. The person that has asked me to shoot for her only wanted the wedding shot. I am used to shooting on a per hour basis.
Should I charge on a per hour or a total fee? or a per hour and per photo? help!
How much should i change to photograph a wedding?
i am a professional photographer, and primarily shoot weddings. the first year or two, i charged a minimum of $100 an hour, however i learned that sometimes i would get all my shots within an hour or two, and it ended up not being worth the driving, arranging schedule, etc for $200. Charging by job allows you to take care of everything for a certain price, which is simpler for you and your client.
Reply:I'm a wedding photographer for more than 14 years. I charge in different ways. In my experience it's difficult to charge hourly basis on a wedding function. Some times it will take 2 hours to 8 hours or more for a function depending on the family, caste or religion.
If they want the full function album, you can design and print them and make a beautiful album for them. You can charge per photographs or per pages of the album.
The other way is take the shoot and give the CD of the snaps, they will make album or what ever it may be.You can charge per snaps you shot.
Or you may shoot, make prints in particular size and give it to them and charge per prints.
What ever it may be, you just calculate your expense and work load.Calculate and compair if it was a hourly basis. Then you give a minimum charge/minimum snaps for your work and the charge per snaps you desided to take.
Make sure that you should have an experience in shoot wedding. You must know the sequences which is going to be happen next moment, you should have an over all idea of a wedding function what will go on next...You should have an awareness it is not a photo session, it is wedding function.Photography is secondary thing here.
If you are confident, nothing matters; go on with that
Reply:Usually it's a flat fee for the session that varies based on what they want. If you cover the total wedding you usually get fed, BUT remember if it's FORMAL you have to wear a TUX.
Then you charge them for the prints separately after you give them the proofs.
Make sure they know they have to get the prints from you and not Kodak scan them off the proofs OR charge a higher fee and let them make their own prints from a disk you provide.
As for waht photographers charge it varies widely. Why not call a few and ask them so you don't under price or over price.
Reply:Only you can figure out what your time is worth and what the market will stand ($100 an hour is not unreasonable for something like this) but make sure you also take into account the time spent post processing. I spend much longer after the wedding than I do at the wedding, and often times, people can't comprehend the amount of work that goes on once the event is over. I think it is for this reason, I would quote a fixed fee for the entire event that takes into account how much time you will spend shooting the wedding and doing the post-processing. Also keep in mind that doing formals is much different than shooting the reception. Different skills, different equipment and different challenges. Please make sure you know what you are doing. Shooting a wedding is a big deal and there are no second chances if you mess something up.
Reply:I think I agree with Laura on this one!
Reply:I agree with Laura, price it by the event. I don't shoot weddings but I listen to a lot of podcasts put on by pro wedding shooters and they all price it by event. Check out www.simplephotolife.com. This is a website that features a lot of top wedding shooters.

How much does a wedding planner charge/make?
I'm considering pursuing a career in wedding planning, but I wouldn't be in a huge city. Do they charge a pecentage of the wedding cost? How many weddings do they do per year?
How much does a wedding planner charge/make?
2000 to 10000 and up.
It will take time to develop a name for your self so best to charge low it first. If you are good word will spread.
(it's a lot of headache!)
Reply:A wedding planner either charges a percentage of the entire wedding, or a flat fee. Said flat fee is NOT separate from the budget, as the wedding planner's job is to save the couple money. The weddings they do per year varies, as weddings are "seasonal."
Blessed Be!

How do you eat one year old frozen wedding cake?
I got married one year ago this 12/10. We saved the top of the wedding cake and its been in the freezer for 363 days as of this writing. Its been wrapped in plastic wrap and tin foil the whole time. Someone suggested taking it out the day before and letting it thaw on the counter for 24 hours. Anyone know? Thanks!
How do you eat one year old frozen wedding cake?
Oh I like this!!! I have a rather funny story from mine...but won't go into the long winded detail here. I suggest defrosting in the frig for at least 24 hours. Feed each other one bite...........then you have fun with the frosting.......no clothes necessary....I'm sure you get my drift! Have fun and HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Reply:What???????????
Don't eat it!!!!!
What are you thinkinh about?
Reply:thaw in the frig or cut a slice and put it in the micro for a few seconds.
Reply:Thaw it and use a fork. It's fine really- I am a Chef at a banquet facility and brides do it all the time- some kind of tradition. I just hope it was wrapped well because freezer burn tastes pretty bad ; )
Reply:you don't!!!!!!
Reply:I'm not sure but congrats on lasting a year!
Reply:If you really wanted to eat it, I would thaw it in the fridge and just share a tiny fork full if you want to do the "tradition".
Personally, I'd call the baker who did the cake and order a small one layer cake. Some high end bakers do this routinely for "sample cakes" for prospective customers. Surprise your sweetie with that instead. You'll enjoy it more.
Reply:No; please thaw it in the fridge, otherwise it thaws too quickly and the icing can become runny.
Reply:yep thaw it out
Reply:Take my aadvice and don't worry about it. No matter how you defrost it the cake is already freezer burnt. You don't wanna eat a whole lot it. Just take anibble and then pitch the rest. Learn from my mistake and don't stuff a big gob in your mouth. You will regret it
Reply:Just take it out and let thaw for 24 hours like your friend suggested. We did that with ours and amazingly enough it was still good! Yummy!
