How do I wear a barong tagalog to a wedding?

I'm attending a filipino/jewish wedding in the summer and need to know what is the best way to wear the barong. Is it okay to wear light colored pants and light colored shoes since it's a morning wedding? Or should I wear black pants and black shoes. Thanks!

How do I wear a barong tagalog to a wedding?
To best showcase the intricate fabric and embroidery:

1. please wear plain white shirt underneath, a long-sleeve undershirt is even more visually pleasing -it may be summer but it certainly looks better in the photograph; (do check Google- Images, compare the difference)

2. please keep accessories to a minimum -if you must, a watch and a ring is all that is necessary;

3. please wear clean, crisply ironed black dress pants;

4. please pair these with black dress socks and polished black shoes;

5. most importantly, please maintain good posture and smile.

Mazel tov (congratulations) to the couple!

FILAMUSA--- Do you practise at being an a***hole or is it a natural talent you have?
Reply:You have to wear an insert plain white t-shirt then barong tagalog with black pants %26amp; black shoes.
Reply:wear a plain white t-shirt underneath your barong and a black pants, black socks, black shoes with it. a big no no is to wear a light or cream colored pants with your barong. and also, many make a mistake by wearing white socks with black shoes.
Reply:its best to wear black pants blk shoe's. wear a nice plain blk or white tee shirt under the barong..
Reply:the best way to wear it is with black pants and black shoes. it's going to show the intricated details of your barong tagalog. your welcome.
Reply:day or night, it is always appropriate to wear black pants and shoes. NEVER wear colored undershirts! NEVER put those colored "neckties" on barongs! NEVER buy barong made with synthetic fiber! If you want to invest in a good quality barong, make sure it's made out of piña (pronounced "peenya") and hand embroidered or if you want a cheaper version, jusi (pronounced "hoo-see") is a great alternative. It will cost a fraction of the piña version.
Reply:black pants %26amp; shoes is correct way, then either a WHITE t.shirt, or a white singlet shortsleeved version {like a t.shirt would} i know married to a Philippina. then later rip of your Barong after reception formalities are over, observe what OTHER phlippino guys are doing, then do exactly what they do the Barong gets extremely annoying after awhile, trust me!! you will soon find that out too!!
Reply:Wearing a Barong to a wedding/funeral is the equilavelent of formal attire here. Black pants and shoes are the standard. Also don't forget to wear a white t shirt underneith the Barong.
Reply:you are totally neat with your attire. don't change your attire because it is your choice as long as you are neat, clean and comportable.
Reply:Better to wear with a plain, white short-sleeve T-shirt underneath, black trousers, black socks and black leather shoes.
Reply:the barong is see-through so don't wear a bra. just kidding!

but do wear a crisp white t-shirt, black pants and black shoes.
Reply:filipino / jewish??? let me guess, the guy is the rich old jew and the girl is the alot younger, alot more beautiful filipina. am i right?
