How do i start planning for my wedding in September;what are the 1st things to be done?

My wedding is in September 2006,i dont know where to start from in making preparation for that day to make it a success!

How do i start planning for my wedding in September;what are the 1st things to be done?
Well FIRST I would check out the website:

http://www.theknot.com

It is the most important tool you will use. Once you register it will create a timeline of things you need to focus on to make your day a success. It has articles and advice and it's up to date.

Also, get a binder and when you see something you like put it in there labeled so you are well organized.

Another thing: DO WHAT YOU AND YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND WANT. Family will try to tell you that you HAVE to do this or have that but it is what YOU want. I didn't throw the bouquet....I stopped at my grandparents grave and placed it there because they couldn't share the day with me. Other people didn't like it but it meant a great deal to me.

Finally, don't expect perfection. Stuff will go wrong...remember the wedding day is just a day...marriage is a lifetime.
Reply:Set the date and reserve the location

Then check out the websites below foe free planning guides to go the rest of the way

Reply:One of the things that takes the longest to take care of is the bridesmaid's dresses. You need to figure that out fairly quickly, because it takes a lot of time to get everyone fit, order them, etc. My wife and I had a very short engagement (about 10 weeks). The only thing that was really hard to get done in that amount of time was the brides maid dresses.
Reply:Well there is a few things. Get a church or decide where the ceremony will take place, get a reception location and buy a gown and it's fixins', select your bridal party, and there is soo much I can keep going on! Get a wedding planner book and they have it marked for you week by week!
Reply:In the last wedding that I went to in August, my cousin had paid for a very expensive wedding planner. That is not always necessary. If you think everything out, do a little here and there, then, everything should run smoothly. Since it is in Sept., make sure you are doing something related towards your wedding each week like making flower baskets, getting the wedding gown, picking out the bridesmaids' dresses, choosing the location %26amp; alternative plans of indoor/outdoor in case of bad weather, music list or live band, catering place, wedding shoes/garter/veil, ring barrier's pillow, table decorations, close to last minute list of people to invite if others RSVP no and there is a minimum seat requirement to reserve a specific room, types of drinks at the open bar if there is to be one, stretch limo comapany, etc. By now, you are probably sending out the invitations?
Reply:the first and the foremost to be done ....and the most difficult one is ...find the right guy......and i mean "the right guy" ...be sure.
