What price would a you pay for a wedding planning or wedding day coordination?

If you are considering hiring a wedding planner to plan your entire wedding, what price would you pay and what would you expect from them?

If you have already planned your wedding, but would like to hire a wedding day coordinator to make sure that everything goes the way you envisioned it, what price would you be willing to pay?

Complete wedding planning usually costs 10% of your wedding budget and wedding day coordination is usually $750, is that reasonable - would you pay that price for a stress-free wedding?

What price would a you pay for a wedding planning or wedding day coordination?
You sound like a wedding coordinator wannabe. I have to say I am not wealthy so I would not be willing to pay that. But if I had a big budget for a wedding, I'd probably hire a coordinator and pay that much.
Reply:that sounds cheap. i would expect it actually costs way way more than that, but for those who say it's more 'fun' to do it yourself, that's a total crock, it's very stressful when people do it themselves--most people do not have the temperment for it, i've seen it SO many times that they stress out bigtime--yes, i'd pay for a stress-free experience in anything, not just weddings, if not, then i would do my best to keep it as simple and REALISTICALLY MANAGEABLE as possible if i was doing it myself, which i have, twice!
Reply:no i wouldnt do the planning and details with yourself and intended and ask ifyour family and friends can help.planners can find stuff for you cheaper but look on computer you can get all kinds of stuff yourself super cheap.check on ebay and also a company called oriental trading has supplies super cheap.sure it will be a little more work for you but it can be enjoyable.besides the money you sp[end on a planner can be spent on your life after the wedding.i had a beautiful wedding and didnt spend much by doing it myself as others have done.good luck on the futureany wedding has stress no matter who does the work.
Reply:Not a penny. It's nice when families do the planning together, and everything is under our own control.
Reply:I planned my own wedding and it went off with out a hitch no planner needed . . the only worry I had was keeping my veil on while on the freeway in a convertible heading for the reception so I wouldn't spend the money on a planner . .
Reply:I wouldn't pay a penny for a wedding planner. I am actually enjoying planning my wedding. And the things that have stressed me out a wedding planner couldn't of helped me with. Like for example my bridesmaid dresses and it was only because I didn't know what I wanted and nobody could've hepled me with that especially somebody I barely know. Everything else I was perfectly capable of doing on my own. I know that I am getting exactly what I want and not a version of what my wedding planner thinks I want. Oh yeah and I agree with what somebody said about the 10%. That's alot of money. The average cost of a wedding in the United States is around the $25,000-$30,000 range. So how is your average price $750. My wedding is going to cost a over $20,000 and I would never pay $2000 for somebody to basically give me their opinion when I can do that for free.
Reply:10% WOW, that would be $2,000!!!

I can barely afford the wedding... I would never pay that...
Reply:that is the easier, less stressful way to do it. But I'm in the process of planning my wedding and I have so much fun doing it. My friends and family want to help. If I had someone so it all for me it wouldn't be as much fun, nor would I get to explore my options.

I say gather up some people and do it yourself.
Reply:Why did you ask this question, as you already have the answer. Your estimates are right in the ball park. Have a great wedding and marriage afterwards.
Reply:Not a damn thing. Coordinators and planners are a waste of money and only further fuel the obnoxious bridezilla nonsense and pathetic wedding industry.

Reply:If i have the money, i would because that means you have an extra hand to help you out so that your wedding will be stress free. You probably have friends or family that can help you, but don't you want them to enjoy your wedding. I hired a wedding day coor and she helped with with things during the wedding and i was glad to have one because i wanted my guests to enjoy the party.
Reply:You need to read this ebook about planning a wedding,

it's really helpful
