What should be worn to a summer wedding that is relatively formal?

I'm going with my boyfriend to his sisters wedding and on the invitation it says relatively formal.

What should be worn to a summer wedding that is relatively formal?
Please do not wear a sun dress! Get a cocktail dress or gown. They have tons of summer styles including off the shoulder, spaghetti straps, halter, etc.
Reply:wear a sun dress and a cute pair of flip flops and be sure it matches the wedding ceramony
Reply:a cute sun dress would be nice, that's what i'm planning on wearing to a wedding this summer that i'm going to
Reply:Well it all depends on what time of the day it is in.

lets say that since it is relatively formal that the wedding is taking place in the evening say 6 ish. you want to wear a darker color, brown, navy black. or a dressy dress in a more fun color such as red or pink or yellow etc. no matter what season or time of day never ever wear WHITE to a wedding biggest faux pas ever.

If its a wedding during the day/afternoon you can get away with a very nice sundress

go cocktail length no matter what. and wear heels, no flip flops or flats
Reply:i would recommend this dress:

Reply:A nice short sleeve or sleevless dress, spagetti straps would be ok, not too sexy but dressy enough for a formal evening out . Knee length or a little longer or a summer pant suit that is dressy with a top dressy enough to take off the jacket if it's hot.
