What type of dress should I wear to a fall, evening wedding?

I am going to a wedding in October that will be at 6:30 in the evening. I would like to know what type of dress would be best. I don't want to be too formal but I don't want to be under dressed either. The groom just tells me whatever is fine but I know better than to follow that advice. The wedding is inside at a hotel/resort type place.

I think that since it's in the Fall the temperature is too tricky. I would go with a nice sleeveless dress but have a wrap in case it gets chilly. (I'm assuming that you'll be in a car to and back from there.) You can ask several other ladies that may be at the wedding and then you can get a feel of what everyone else is wearing. That's always a good way to find out. Well, I hope that you pick something just fine and have fun at the wedding. Best wishes and take care.
Reply:I would most definately recommend a uni-(dark) colored long sleeve dress, maybe navy, and knee/full-length. Black mesh pantyhose for warmth or ankle-reaching leggings, the thicker-than-mesh ones though in this case. Black low-heeled pumps for shoes. Or, same kind of dress but sleeveless with a deep crimson (or any colors that go together) turtleneck sweater on top.

Hope this helped, good luck and fun! =)
Reply:definitely a dress (not too short), with shoes that cover your toes. sleeveless dress is okay, but i'd recomend a shawl or a sweater ofr warmth/cover up (at least till dancing at the reception). have fun!
