What is the best camera for professional wedding pictures?

I am interested in doing some wedding photos, but would like some opinions on what cameras work best for this type of photography.

What is the best camera for professional wedding pictures?
Before you jump into attempting to become professional by buying a "professional" camera, work as an assistant for a professional wedding photographer for a year or two ... by then you not only know which camera you need, but what shots are expected, how to make perfect exposures and how the business end of wedding photography works.

Most my wedding photog buds use Nikon D300/D3 or Canon 5D/1Ds Mark III bodies with two or three different lenses and a good dedicated flash unit.
Reply:one that is used by a professional
Reply:I would suggest 2 bodies, a Nikon D3 and a Nikon D300, or A Canon 5D and a 40D. A 70-200mm f2.8 IS/VR, and a 17-55mm f2.8. If I were starting out, I'd go with a Nikon D3 and a 70-200mm, though.
Reply:Hasselblad H3D39 MkII. And don't listen to anyone who says that experience is necessary either. Photographing weddings are a pleasant way to spend a Saturday, and you can even sleep in before the big day. Just make sure that you turn up at least ten minutes before the wedding just to be sure, and then once the bride arrives, it is simply a matter of taking as many photographs as possible. If you take 1000 photos, you are almost certainly going to get ten odd shots that the bride and groom will be pleased with. Backups, well in todays world with technology at an all time high, they are just a waist of time. What could go wrong?

All the best.
