I've made a couple of wedding cakes for friends and now I've been asked to make one and I want to charge for it but I don't know how to price it. I think one serving is about an inch wide, am I right?
How do you measure and price a serving of a wedding cake?
get on line to view bakers cakes.Call or go to a bakery and tell them you are shopping around, take heed of price, and size for their suggested serving. A baker will charge up the ying yang. remember you are not a pro, but don't let yourself be under paid for your hard work either.
Reply:that has a lot to do with what kind it is, and how extensively it's decorated. One inch is quite small. figure out the ingredient's cost, add 20.00/hour for labor. Should be about 3.00/person
Reply:I usually charge .75-80 cents per serving depending on how intricate they want it then tack on the price for the top.
Reply:It depends on what kind and how big,as well as how well you like them.
