How many bottles of wine do I need for my wedding?

We are having 5 kegs at our wedding a wondering how many bottles of wine we need (red, white %26amp; champagne). We have a lot of drinkers coming and so I'm not really sure how much we need. We are not serving hard alcohol.

14 boxes of red, 26 boxes of white and as many cases of champagne as you can fit in your Land Rover.+
Reply:Our wedding planner recommended simply going with one bottle for every drinking person. This worked well for us - we had a lot of big drinkers at our wedding in 2005. We also served beer but not hard alcohol. There were some leftover bottles, but I figured better to have leftovers than not enough.
Reply:I think about 1 750 ml bottle for every 3 people. Most only drink wine with dinner and then switch to the other stuff. Go half red and half white. Count on most guests having 1 glass with dinner and about half of them having a second glass.





One 750 ml bottle is about 5 glasses, a 1 L bottle is 7 glasses of wine.

i would go with 5 bottles of red, 10 bottles whites and varieties thereof, and 5 bottles of champagne.


you can get several varieties of whites and blushes to serve.


i'm not a big fan of reds wines so i suppose you can get a few diff ones of that.


i know me personally i can drink a bottle in a night myself. most of my friends can too depending on what is served.


this may sound silly but do you have a liq store close to the reception in case you run out of something? you can always get somone to make a run for you.
Reply:How many guests will be there? One standard bottle will serve about seven glasses. Multiply that by the number of guests and how many glass you want each to have.
Reply:5 cases of Merlot , Cabernet, and Chardonnay. 15 cases total. I do this for a living so trust me , you will be good for 200 guests.
Reply:750ml of wine will fill 6 flutes - that's 33 bottles of champagne just for the 1st toast. will you really need both red and white wine? What is on the menu?
Reply:Work on 6 glasses per bottle. Are you expecting people to buy their own drinks after the meal? If so then allow 0.5 of bottle per person-then multiply the number of people (adults only) by .5 and you're done!--If the drink that you serve is the only drink and it is an all day affair then I would allow a bottle per person.
