What type of bag can a man carry to a wedding?

Going to a wedding mass and reception. Dress will be black slacks, black dress shoes and charcoal gray shirt. The problem is I don't know what type of bag to carry with that, I have big black messenger which will probably look to job like, also have khaki messenger which will look too causual. I saw a black leather man purse, rectangular shaped the size of a bible that I might buy. Or should I just carry around a small shopping bag? I have a fossil one.

If you are driving, just leave whatever it is you need in your car/trunk if you can. Like gifts or something can be kept in there, and you won't have to worry about it.

if you MUST carry a bag, go with the fossil, and stash it out of sight at your first opportunity.





chicks hate man-bags. i would rather carry 10lbs of stuff for my guy in a purse than have him walking around with a man bag.

Reply:What type of objects do you need to carry? The clothing? Or, do you need to actually carry it through the ceremony and reception? If your part of the wedding party their will be rooms to keep your stuff in during the ceremony and reception. So in that case, showing up with whatever bag is best for you (including the fossil bag) is the best option. If you have to carry it around with you then, I'd go with the black messenger bag. It'll be easier to tote around, you can carry it whatever way looks the best or the moment calls for. It'll blend into your clothing anyway and not look unusual (business dress is appropriate here). Having a small bag that requires your hands to carry it can be inconviencing over several hours and is much more likely to get lost. Also most places have coat check rooms so you can always drop it there with your outerwear when you arrive (if your not in the wedding party). good luck.
