How much should I charge to do video for a wedding and sweet sixteen?

I'm starting a business doing videography and would like to know if there is an average rate to go by charging for a sweet sixteen party and a wedding.

It really depends on how expeienced you are at this. Also, definitely reduce your prices if you are using only one camera. Check out my website at www.readyforsummer.com. (The site name's temporary!) I use only one camera at the moment, so my prices are reduced a bit. Just click some of the sections under Services for a detail of my pricing. Actually, I'm working on the site as I'm typing this, so there will be more sections added later.
Reply:Depends on the media you are recording on, if you have multiple cameras running at once, if you are going to be editing and dubbing the finished product or only giving the raw footage, so on and so on.

The best idea is to figure out how much everything will cost you, figure out how much of your time is going to be needed, figure out what you think a reasonable rate is for your time, and from that information you should be able to figure out how much to charge.
