Where do I start out to become a wedding planner?

I currently have a 9-5 office job, and I feel like it's time for a change. I would love to be a wedding/event planner, but have no idea how to start or get my foot in the door. Any suggestions?

Volunteer to do a few weddings for free. You will gain experience and help you build your portfolio. Then you can start advertising your services. Go to churches and wedding stores and let them know your skills.
Reply:Great! After you do one or two for free start charging, maybe the next 2 weddings at half the price you want to, then the rest at full price but give discounts for referrals. It will help get the word out fast and the discount is still cheaper than a decent advertising budget. Report It

Reply:plan a wedding, as long as its not your own lol
Reply:i you have enough money take up an internship somewhere good experience
