I am flying from CA to WA for a wedding. I bought a really pretty vase. I was going to give them that and a bottle of wine. But I was going to wait until I was in WA to buy the wine. Should I carry the vase on board with me or pack it in my bag and risk it get broken?
What is the best way to fly with a wedding gift?
If the airline allows glass, I say carry it on with you. Wrap it loosely in bubble wrap and put it in a box. But, I've put very fragile things in my luggage before many times from travelling overseas (packaged very well) and have yet to break anything. (They can put large "fragile" stickers onto your suitcase.) Do whatever you're most comfortable with.
Reply:I would wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in a duffle bag for your carry on.
