Wedding...?

Hi, Please could you tell me the average price of a UK wedding ceromony in a church, and in a registry office. Also.. please can you share with me how to keep weddings as low cost as possible.. Thanks :)

Wedding...?
When you get married, you have two costs you have to pay in the UK - you can't escape these:

£30 (each) to give notice at the registry office

£3.50 for the certificate

On top of these, you may have to pay a registrar to 'officially' marry you in a non-CofE church if there isn't an authorised person. This is £47, or if you're getting married in the registry office you'll need to pay £40.

The cost for a wedding ceremonies in a church is defined by each church. Some churches charge and will include flowers and organist in the cost, others won't charge and you'll be expected to give a 'gift' to the celebrant and the organist. Best thing to do would be to speak to your preferred church. Costs could range between £20 - £400!

The Governments Registry Office Site is very good - see sources below.

For keeping your costs down, you should have a look at www.cheap-wedding-success.co.uk. It's very good for tips and ideas on having a low cost wedding.
