My wedding dress is white with a long APPLE red sash (not regular red) around the waist with the rest hanging down the back of the dress. The guys will be wearing black tuxes, possibly with apple red vest and tie. Groom in black and all white vest and tie. I was thinking about putting the girls in black dresses with a ribbon tied around the waist or a flower pinned on them but i dont know how good that will look. And from what i hear black is not what they should be wearing anyway. HELP!!!!!
What wedding colors should i use and what color should the bridesmaids dresses be?
if your wedding is in the evening I think black dresses for the bridesmaids would be very classic!
Reply:Girl, the bridesmaids should be in white and red similar to you, you want to coordinate--not clash. I get where you're coming from, but black is not good. Nice white dresses or even red dresses--but then they might look like hookers. Well u should be the only one wearing whit. Put them in red dresses. and the flower girls in white.
Reply:I know you reported on me, and answer was deleted. But it is not impossible to find this question again and write the new one. I let them know about racial discrimination, no need to hate russian, it is wasting on time and nerves. We r still the best. Thanks.
Reply:Here is my honest opinion. I think that you should have your bridesmaids were an apple color dress, like the color of your sash, and then have them just choose different styles of dresses to suit there body types, just in that color. I also think that a white sash, would look good on the apple dress. Kind of doing a reverse type of theme. Your bridesmaids should definitely not wear black at all. I think that an apple color with a bright bold color sash or even a fall colored sash, if your wedding is in the fall would look great. I say bright green, white, baby blue, or even a gold or a burnt orange would look great for a sash or ribbon.
Reply:i would look at Alexia's Bridal shop online! There are soem really cute femine dresses for bridesmaids and you could get some good ideas! I wouldnt want black for my bridesmaids b/c when i think of a wedding I think of happyness and black make it feel not as happy more like a dealth. Congrats! and Good Luck!!
Reply:No black give them pink and have your theme color be like a gold/ jade
Reply:its your wedding, have them wear clown suits if ya want too.
Black is always elegant and formal. Perhaps they could have black with a white flower pinned on them and maybe white gloves.
That is a nice look, sharp and elegant.
Congratulations! Best wishes! :)
Reply:Gosh no, they are not going to a funeral! Put the girls in a soft pink. That way they will match the red the rest of weddding party is wearing.
Green might be another choice since it is the complimentary color to red, but you don't want to look like Christmas either.
Soft pink would look really nice.
Reply:its your wedding.
Go with black.
I have seen bridesmaids wearing black.
But try and find a black dress with some tipe of "apple red" sash, that way it all matches, and your bridesmaids dont look out of place.
Reply:I would put the bridesmaids in apple red dresses, and the color scheme would be apple red and dark brown.
Reply:black is what I have always wanted. I think it is really nice and classic. With red accents...you carrying red flowers and the bridesmaids carrying white or cream. You could pull that off. Charcoal is in now too. it looks classier than you think.
Reply:lavender and white
Reply:well if you want your bridesmaids to wear black...do it. it's your wedding so as long as you like it and are happy with what everything looks like is all that matters.
however, do you know what time of day the wedding will be? usually, if it's a night wedding people will be more open to seeing black dresses on the bridesmaids...especially if it's more of a formal wedding.
my opinion is if you DO go with black..make the ribbon apple to match your dress. or go with the apple bridesmaids dresses
Reply:I been to couple of wedding parties and they usually wear the brides favorite color. They also wear the color of watever the bride is wearing for example in your situation apple red!! In my opinion honestly i dont think black is nice if its your wedding it should be like a happy color like the apple red that you said. Black is too sad, Good luck!!
Reply:Why don't you have them wearing apple red dresses? makes sense to me.
Reply:regardless of the dress color DO NOT MAKE THEM WEAR THE SAME DRESS! it is the easiest way to make your wedding party uncomfortable and look sloppy. make sure the dresses fit everyone's figure. choose a simple color and maybe accessorize to match you, trust me everyone's eyes will be on you no matter what...but the next thing they look at shouldn't be the maid of honor about to rip open her dress.
Reply:Black is fine. I like your idea, you could have a simple black dress with a red tie around the waist. Whould it be too bright if they had red dresses? Usally bridsmaids have peaches and light blue tones.
Reply:It is good that you asked for help because it is better to get opinion from others rather than burdening such things by yourself. It would be best to consult a fashion designer and a wedding planner because they know more about how your wedding would become successful and great. In such ways others prefer their color motives with their favorite colors.
Reply:What about putting each bridesmaid in a different, but complimentary, shade of red....monochromatic, but varied?
They could each pick their own style dress too. Use the various shades of red in your bouquet and theirs...and in youe petals down the aisle.
Reply:MAYBE YOU SHOULD WEAR SHEER DRESS WITH THE RED UNDER IT THEN U WILL HAVE BOTH OF THOSE COLORS I DNT KNOW BUT I JUST WANTED TO HELP WITH UR QUESTIONS. I HOPED I HELPED A LITTLE
Reply:Why don't you have them wear an apple red dress..Thats what we wore in my sisters wedding and they were so pretty..If you do decide to do black (its your day who cares what others think) I'd do an apple red ribbon around the waist..Congrats
Reply:try going to www.davidsbridal.com
they have a great selection and plenty of colors to choose from.
Reply:You can so use black! It sounds pretty.
Reply:Why not put the girls in apple red? They could wear black with an apple red sash.
Reply:the black dresses would look very nice with a gold ribbon around the waist.
Reply:I think black is a beautiful color for bridesmaid dresses. You can totally do the sash thing, that's what my sister did.

Reply:Try red dresses with a sash - make sure the dresses also look good without a sash, so they can re-use them.
What color is apple red? There are so many colors of apples!
Cherry red, tomato red, burgundy red, etc...
Reply:The girls could still wear black. My niece did this and it was very classy plus they had red flowers that really stood out. So black with apple red sash would be good or if you prefer apple red dresses if you can find them. Then they would match the men's vests. It's your wedding so do what pleases you!
Reply:red dresses w/ black sash/ ribbon tied around them ... or black dresses w/ red shash/ ribbon.
Reply:Don't worry what anyone else thinks or says about how YOUR wedding should look! You can make it any way you want. BTW, I think the black dresses with the apple red ribbon around the waist would look beautiful.
Oh, and congratulations!
