so far my thoughts are. lasagna( big thought) cocktail meatballs and boneless spare ribs. I am also baking my wedding cake too as i dont like store bought... i am not a picky person and my wedding is going to be untraditional and i really dont care if things go wrong... i will be changing into somthing else i beleive for the reception still beautiful but somthing that can get stained ( any suggestions) although my wedding dress is mine forever and i only use it once who cares if i get somthing on it,lol. but yeah.. this is also being served around 6:00 pm around 200 dollars planning on using cosco.and their is somwhere to sit down.
I am going to cook all the food for my wedding what do i serve.?
i would change the lasagna also maybe rigatoni with sauce its cheap and then have a meat on the side like chicken
or you could get a big spiral ham and have a carving station where people hack off the meat themselves ham holds up well and easy to cook
stuffed cabbage is cheap and holds up well when sitting in a chafing dish but is time consuming to make
meatballs...grapejelly and chile sauce sounds gross but its good and cheap and easy
cheese trays
veggie trays with different dips
chocolate fountian is pretty can be a decoration too and the chocolate you get is better than before...network around someone you know knows some one who has one to borrow
i like the idea of cup cakes too
if you want you can just do cocktails and appetizers you dont need to have a complete meal ..make it around seven at night six might be a little early for just apps...oh i love to plan weddings
enjoy your day make sure you stop through out and look around and take mental pics...i turned around so much standing on the alter everybody thought i was wacky but i still remember looking over my shoulder and seeing my parents smiling and seeing my friends and my niece being bad ...good luck!!
Reply:$200 for the cake and food?

Reply:I hope that you will be getting help, as it is a very tall order that you are embracing.
What about a huge tossed salad? or a raw veggie tray?
Reply:a pretty decoration for the cake is simply sugared grapes
here is a site to help you
http://www.ebfarm.com/Recipes/StyledReci...
you can bake a simple white sheet cake and just top with a clustor of sugar frosted grapes.. its easy really...
here is a crowd pleaser recipe (just double for more)
brocolli rice casserole
1 package frozen brocolli
1 can cambells cream of mushroom soup
1 8oz can cheese wiz ( or you can substitue 8oz melted velvetta cheese, or use can of condensed cheese soup)
1 cup of uncooked white rice (cooked it will yeild 2 cups)
1 small onion, chopped
1 small red or green bell pepper chopped
salt and pepper to taste
boil frozen brocolli till done, drain and set aside, boil up rice in 2 cups of water till done (about 15min)
fry onion and bell pepper in a little butter till onion is clear
then mix brocolli, rice, onion/peppers, soup, and melted cheese add a dash of salt and pepper and stir well, bake for 25 min in 350F oven...
fried chicken always goes well with everyone, even children
salads, like potato salad, coleslaw goes well
finger foods kids like is mini pizzas,, also pigs in blankets, where you take hotdogs (1/2 them) and wrap with puff pastry or precanned bisquit dough.. brush the top with a little milk, and bake till browned.. kids love these, they wont last 5 min on a table (shhh! adults do too, but they wont admit it)
goodluck! on your upcoming wedding!
Reply:i would change the lasagna to baked ziti, do a salad and chicken on the side. as for ur wedding cake, i think that cupcakes are a cute idea, something different from the ordinary cake, you can do a cupcake tower. for your reception outfit just find a comfy dress, and some flats so that you wil b able to move around without being in pain.good luck and congrats!
Reply:This will need careful planning as you won't have time to cook on your wedding day so you will need food that will come straight from the freezer and you can't have it lying around as you won't want your guest to have food poisening . Cheese cakes would be good for desert
Reply:you should do like bagged salad also. and maybe more pasta.. Pasta is a good filler upper :D
