I am planning my wedding for the beginning of August in 2008. I would like an outdoor one but i need some ideas for good locations in or near near Chicago, preferably not out of state.
What are good locations for an outdoor wedding in the Chicago-land area?
I was in Chicago about 2 years ago and it was September I think. Anywho, the Lincoln Park Zoo has another park attached to it on the west side of the zoo. I mention the Lincoln Park Zoo because I know the name of it and the not the name of this other park. Well, it's really two parks kind of next to each other. Anywho, they have these huge gardens and grassy areas and within 2 hours, we saw 3 weddings in the same area. Plus there is a conservatory, I think that's what it's called, where they grow the different plants in the greenhouse thing. Very cool. It's the grounds attached to the LPZ %26amp; the Garfield Conservatory.
Actually, here's a link to all the Chicago area parks. They have loads of beautiful fountains too.

Reply:Chicago Botanic Gardens, Garfield Park
Reply:There are some nice locations by the Museum of Science that would be breezy in the August mugginess.
Reply:I attended a wedding on one of those ships in Lake Michigan - It was amazingly gorgeous. They got married at sunset with the city line behind them (I'm getting goosebumps remembering it). Plus, August is hot and gross in Chicago - the closer you are to the lake (or on the lake) the breezier and more pleasant it will be.
Here's a link to one of the many cruise companies in Chicago: http://www.mysticbluecruises.com/chicago...
