What should I wear to a wedding this May?

My good friend is getting married and my boyfriend is a groomsman, so he'll be in a tux. But the wedding itself is not extremely fancy, the reception is at the bride's parents house (which apparently is not all that fancy either). Plus, I really don't especially like the bride, so I want to look really good, but I have no idea what to wear other than the obvious- a dress of some sort. Advice anyone?

In May you have two options...If you are a lighter complexion, I would go with a light blue or green and if you are a little darker or if you tan, then I would go with a pale yellow. Something that fits well if you have a nice figure but not trashy.
Reply:Wear a black dress... that would really be making a statement....if your bold enuf. lol. Keep it fairly simple and just hold your head up high!
Reply:i was in a wedding, and a lot of people just wear cute little dresses, no white though. like red or pink. any spring color is good, but its a wedding, so make sure the dress isn't too simple. A little dressy like knee length. Long doesnt fit the mood of a wedding. So probably knee length and a little dressy! good luck! see what you can find in nordstroms or shopbop.com!

Reply:wear what is acceptable, if the wedding is not too fancy then follow those guideline but if were me, I'll dress fancy.
Reply:even if you dont like the bride, you still must be respectful. Its her wedding day and it IS all about her. Just go a little more fancy then needed, but not overboard
Reply:Don't upstage the bride no matter how much you don't like her. That is her special day. Be classy and be a better person than that. A nice spring dress - sun dress or simple dress would be appropriate.

but those three sites have HOT dresses. you will DEFINITELY look good. and i guess those would be better choices because the bcbg ones that i've listes are a bit more fancier. a SEXY DRESS from baby, guess, or marciano will surely take some eyes off the bride. haha. hope this was helpful!
