I'm having a outdoors wedding in my backyard. I have a 6 foot wire fence that surrounds my property. I want to decorate the entire backyard in a romantic prom like theme. Like Roses, Columns, and candles, It's an evening wedding As the sun is setting..How do I hide the fence??? It's in October in Georgia weather is beautiful!
How do I hide this wire fence for my wedding?
6 months ins plenty of time to grow a vine. Go to the nursery and ask them for their fastest growing.....Obviouslt you'll have to buy quite a few since you are in a bit if a rush.
Reply:Use a rattan or bamboo flexible fencing. It has become a popular way to hide wire/chain link fencing. You just wire tie it to the front of your existing fence. In Georgia you could even keep it up all year if you like.
Many of them are adjustable (accordion style) and affordable. I suggest maybe spray painting it in a coordinating color if it has too much of the "woody" look for you. Even Walmart carries it now.

Secondly,
I would try use hanging plants/flowers to detract from the fencing. Stagger them at various heights to create a feeling of being surrounded by walls. You could even place tall ornamental grasses in buckets/planters on the ground in front of the fence to detract. Don't you wish you could rent outdoor plants?
Depending on your guest list.....You could even send them home with your guests as a thank you gift for attending. They would always remember where they got it from as they watch it grow in their own yard or container.
Finally, you could drape a sheer fabric but this would take some finesse to get the right look so that it doesn't look cheap. Twinkle lights behind the sheer fabric could look great, especially at night.
Best of luck~
Reply:I love the idea of hanging small flower pots - I did this for a garden party once a long time ago. I used different colored ribbons woven through out the fence and peppered little flower pots on 'S' hooks randomly along the fence. I am sure you can get ribbons and flowers (even pots) to match you colour theme.
Best of luck !!
Reply:plant vining plant like moon flowers they bloom at night and will cover the entire fence with vines the whole time
or
plant ivy
morning glories( but the flowers close at night)
honey suckle( they smell good too)
they'll look good while people are arriving and make a great back drop for before and after pictures
this is the cheapest and easiest way
and would look the best
Reply:Drape it with fabric of the wedding colors - make it a back drop.
Reply:Throw fabric over it. Canvas Sheets should work.
