What are some fancy, yet affordable cheeses to have at a wedding?

I am planning on having a cheese tray at my wedding, but I don't want your normal boring try. I am looking to have a few old favorites but include some other cheeses that are not so traditional. As anything that goes along with weddings, cost is very important. I also am aware that the more finer cheeses will cost more.

What are some fancy, yet affordable cheeses to have at a wedding?
Fourme d'Ambert

Crottin de Champcol (roll into little balls about the size of melon balls)

Chevre

Petit Basque

Gaperon

Chabichou du Poitou

Bleu d'Auvergne

Mimolette Vielle

White cheddar

Marscapone

Morbier Jura

Champignon Brie

Taleggio

Asiago

Matiz with fruit (fig, apricots, etc)

Serve with some warm French bread, variety of crackers, and have accompaniments like current preserves, fresh berry compote, etc.
Reply:Bree is a very classy cheese. If you go to a wholesale warehouse like Costco you can get it pretty cheaply.
Reply:Most deli's have a good variety and will let you sample as well if you are ordering from them. Simple choices are usually best because people waste so much if they try something and don't like it. Congrats and good luck:-)
Reply:Goat. Definitely goat. Baaah
Reply:Brie and greyure are my favorites, but they can be pricey... :-(
Reply:Meunster is always a popular cheese. Sharp cheddar goes good with most crackers. Wheat thins are a good underside to any hor d'eurves. Good luck and congratulations!
Reply:Wensleydale is the best cheese ever and appreciated by all.

It is also not too expensive. Just dont go for anything french as you dont want your wedding goers smelling of gutters.

Reply:OUI! "GOAT" EST TRES BIEN!
Reply:One suggestion is to buy a wheel or two of French Brie cheese. It's not as expensive as some of the other expensive cheeses, but it is rich in flavor.

A suggestion for preparation: Leave the rind on (it's one of the best parts). Set the cheese on some foil on a tray, and sprinkle slivered almonds and / dried cranberries on top of the cheese. Be generous. Bake at 350' for approximately 10 minutes -- keep an eye on it, and as the cheese softens, take it out before it melts completely. It will be gooey, nonetheless, but that's how it's supposed to be. Serve it with some nice crackers or sliced baugette on the side, and your guests can spread it on the crackers to eat. The almond / cranberry combination sounds odd, but it tastes very good.
Reply:cheese whiz has some pretty fancy flavors
Reply:Pepper Jack, Colby Jack, Muenster, Baby Swiss,
Reply:brie, gouda, and port wine are some of my favs
